Norwood Park Community Input Questionnaire |
What is an all-inclusive park?
An all-inclusive park is a space in which users of all abilities and developmental stages have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities. The design of the park addresses the needs of individuals and removes any barriers so that, despite differences, everyone has the chance to play together. In particular, it gives children the opportunity to develop physically, socially, and emotionally. This is accomplished by providing a sensory rich environment that gives a reasonable level of challenge and allows children of all ages and abilities to interact together. As a result, these children have the opportunity to gain new perspectives, develop empathy, learn the values of equality and fairness, and build self-esteem. Families are also brought closer together by having a space where all members and abilities can interact. This benefits society by forming a community where everyone is viewed as an equal and all are happier, healthier, and more connected to each other.
In order to create a space where all are included, we want to hear from you! Only with your feedback can we create a space that benefits all members of the community. Please take the time to fill out this survey to help us envision what the final design for the All-Inclusive Norwood Park should look like. All answers will be reviewed and considered!
