Our aspirations to achieve all the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in Africa is threatened. Recent data from the UN suggests that only 15% of the SDG targets are on track. The effects of global disruption by the COVID19 pandemic, climate change, energy crisis, food insecurity and war challenge leadership at all levels to expand citizens access to global public goods. Bridging gaps in access requires bold innovations with citizens at the center, and novel narratives on equity, inclusion and diversity for social transformation and economic growth,
UbuntuPlus co-creation Mission is a series of joint learning events in Nigeria (1st - 4th of November 2023). Local to global, we share experiences on impact of COVID19 and other global challenges, identifying its peculiarities in Africa and learn from initiatives on COVID19 bounce back, PHC build better actions and financing.
Participants will deep dive into concepts of African humanity and leadership (UbuntuPlus) that amplify the continents owned narratives on gender equity, youth inclusion and diversity as central levers of change and sustainable implementation of social transformation and economic growth.
Key outcomes include the integration of Ubuntu (I am because we are) and other African principles of humanity into mentoring, coaching and leadership development, contribution to the theory of change and business case development of initiatives that support gender equity, youth inclusion, diversity, and sustainable development.
