Leadership Adams Youth Academy Summary and Goals:
Goals:
1. Develop leadership skills
2. For students to connect with key influencers in the county
3. For students to explore career opportunities in the county
4. For students to experience service opportunities in the county
Summary:
- Five day program on May 13-15 and May 20-21, 2024, 8:00am - 3:30pm. Classes to be held at the Ohio Valley Career & Technical Center in West Union, OH.
- Educational component consisting of a John Maxwell curriculum plus site visits to key places in Adams County.
- One male & one female will be selected from all six high schools in Adams County.
- Two $500 scholarships will be awarded based on participation, attendance, engagement, and a project/essay to be completed at the end of the program.
Basic Selection Criteria for Leadership Adams Youth Academy:
An important factor in selection is identifying those individuals most apt to utilize their leadership for the long-term benefit of the community.
Basic criteria for achieving this selection are:
1. Individuals with a sincere commitment, motivation, and interest in service to the community
2. Individuals who have demonstrated commitment by past community activities
3. Individuals who will make a commitment to set aside four full days in June to attend the academy
