Bakehouse Public Art Project: Hoddle St Billboards |
Expression of Interest Form
Since 2014, the Bakehouse Public Art Project has supported artists showcase their works via activated, highly visible, large scale billboard installations. The exhibition wall faces onto Hoddle Street, Australia’s busiest arterial road, with 10,000 cars passing by per hour (that’s 2 million motorists per week).
Please note, this project is curated and by invitation. Artists selected often have a connection with the studio and local community. Some charities and community groups have been invited to exhibit via a submission process. Artists and community groups are sponsored by Bakehouse Studios, with project costs provided in-kind.
Arts-based commercial projects are welcome to submit a proposal, however site hire, printing and installation fees apply. These contributions make possible the continuity of this vibrant project, with festivals such as Foto Biennale, Dark Mofo, FOJAM and Fantastic Film Festival featured on the Hoddle Street boards in recent years.
