2024 Health Center Eye Care Workforce Survey |
Association of Clinicians for the Underserved
Over the past decade, ACU has been a leader in the space of health center workforce recruitment and retention, and since 2018, ACU has been instrumental in supporting health centers in establishing and expanding eye clinics, recognizing the crucial role of vision services in comprehensive healthcare. The past decade has witnessed a substantial increase in the number of eye care providers, particularly in optometry, with no corresponding growth observed in ophthalmology. Through this survey, ACU will delve deeper into the current landscape of the health center eye care workforce, aiming to identify existing needs and opportunities for improving recruitment and retention of a thriving workforce.
This survey is approximately 40 questions and will take 15-20 minutes to complete. The goals of this survey are 1) to improve recruitment and retention of eye care providers and position health centers as an employer of choice and 2) obtain data that can be used to advocate for additional support of the health center workforce.
How will this info be used?
ACU will develop resources and presentations on compensation trends that impact the recruitment and retention of eye care providers across a variety of geographic areas and practice settings, professional development needs, and diversity of the health center eye care workforce. As such, ACU strives to maintain confidentiality when reporting this data.
