The mission of the Brunswick Wellness Coalition is to improve the health of our community with the vision of becoming the healthiest county in North Carolina.

Brunswick Wellness Coalition (BWC) welcomes members at two levels, partners and friends. Note: As several members of the same organization are welcome, there is only one vote per organization for business matters allowed.

Friend:
In recognizing the important responsibility I, and my organization, am undertaking in serving as a Friend of Brunswick Wellness Coalition (BWC), I hereby personally pledge to carry out in a trustworthy and diligent manner all the duties and obligations inherent in my role as described herein. I acknowledge that my role as a Friend is primarily:
1. To contribute to advancing BWC’s mission and the fulfillment of that mission and;
2. To carry out the functions of a BWC Friend specified in BWC’s membership description, mission, and vision. I will exercise the duties of this role with integrity, collegiality, and due care.
I Pledge to:
1. Provide support, resources and/or expertise to advance BWC’s mission.
2. Volunteer and/or participate in BWC events or committees.
3. Remain up-to-date on BWC activities by attending BWC meetings, reading all related meeting and program materials and/or interacting on BWC social media.
4. Represent and promote BWC in a positive and supportive manner at all times and in all places.
5. Make every effort to learn the job of being a good Friend of BWC and seek methods to help me function better as part of the BWC.
6. Honor BWC’s policies on non-discrimination and conflict of interest, set forth in BWC’s bylaws.
I will not:
1. Use my position for personal advantage or that of friends or relatives.
2. Be a public spokesperson for the BWC unless specially directed/authorize to be so.
3. Discuss the confidential proceedings of the BWC
4. Interfere with the duties of the BWC Executive Director or undermine his/her authority with staff.
Friends support BWC by remaining engaged and informed of BWC activities; participating in BWC and/or BWC partner events/programs; and/or, volunteering time, resources and/or expertise to advance the mission of BWC.

Partner:
Partners fulfill the duties of a Friend and are required to serve on a committee per Bylaws: Article IV to advance the mission of BWC. Partners are also expected to maintain a consistent attendance rate at BWC meetings and/or committee meetings.
