Part of our ethos is to ask what the people of Portland want rather than repeating party political soundbites. As part of this interaction we would like your opinion on local issues and strategic polices. Question Title * 1. Environment. Portland is a beautiful island, rich in sunshine and wind. The A354 Portland Beach Road (Causeway) is at maximum capacity, which is why we have long queues on and off the island at peak times. While the core of the island has an adequate bus service, residents in the outlying areas have a long walk to the main bus routes and services or are forced to use a car for short journeys.Would a frequent mini bus type round island service linking all the outlying areas be used and would it benefit most residents. Most of the key footpaths are muddy, unmarked and not suitable for the huge amount of traffic.Should we be working with stakeholders and partners to improve the footpaths around and across the island.
