As many may be aware, Kenton Hardin Health Department, through funding from Ohio Department of Health, provided a Family Bike Program this summer. Sessions were held in July and August with close to 60 bikes being provided to participants. As part of this program we are trying to learn how the community feels about promoting safe bikes routes, which could include bike lanes in the city and multi-use bike paths in out of city/village settings. Hardin County sits is a unique position with many opportunities as the hub that can connect bike trails coming toward our county from Marion, Logan, Allen and Hancock Counties. KHHD and Stakeholders would like to see Hardin County as a bike friendly community. In addition, bikes are an alternative form of transportation that offers health improvement benefits. We are seeking input from you as a community members on this issue.
