The Siena College Alumnae Association provides an annual award named The Doctor Ursula McKenna Award. This award will be presented at the Academic Awards Evening in December 2022.
Ursula McHenry (nee McKenna), Class of 1948, holds the distinction of being Siena College’s first student to complete a tertiary education. After completing a Science and Medical degree, Ursula worked as a Resident Doctor, then in the psychiatric unit at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne. In a male dominated field Ursula faced many challenges.
The award recognises excellence in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
The following inspirational alumnae have received this award in previous years and therefore are ineligible to be nominated again.

Nominations will close on Monday, 8 August at 9.00am.
Criteria for nominations
1. An Alumna
2. A doctoral degree (or equivalent senior qualification) in the disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics
3. Evidence of significant achievement in her chosen field of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics, eg. publications, published research or outstanding achievement within the workforce
4. Evidence of service to the community as per the Dominican Pillar of Service
