Thank you for your interest in hosting a Career Ready PA Backpack Challenge Mega Event! PDE will be awarding one $1000 host award per Career Ready PA region. All applications must be submitted by February 21, 2025. Applicants should meet the Criteria qualifiers below to be considered for the award.

Host Qualifying Criteria:
1. Host must partner with at least one school district (If the host is a school district, the district should still partner with one or more districts.)

2. Schools participating within each district MUST register for the Career Ready PA Backpack Challenge by March 7, 2025.

3. Host must connect with the Career Ready PA liaison for the associated region. The liaison will provide technical support and training to the registered school for the Backpack Challenge.

Additional consideration will be given to schools who partner with a Career and Technical Education (CTE) center or economically disadvantaged school/s (Title I). To determine if a school is Title I, go to the Future Ready PA Index school performance website and click on “School Fast Facts.” (Remember to search by school, not district).

Schools who identify one or more student or parent ambassadors will also be given additional consideration.
