The Black Male Teachers College (BMTC) and Early Middle College is a virtual-hybrid program for Black male students in the 8th grade who are interested in or plan to become a STEAM teacher. This program aims to shed light on the experiences, perspectives, and practices that support Black males' development, persistence, and educational achievement leading to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) related content courses, majors and careers. Black male 8th grade students who have not considered becoming a teacher but are willing to learn more should apply to participate in the program.

The program will also provide young men with knowledge of being a:

The students will be mentored by Black college professors, college students, and Black male teachers and leaders. The students will also get the opportunity to meet, interact, and network with other Black male students as well as Black male teachers and leaders throughout the state of Maryland and around the country.

A hybrid eight-week curriculum comprising workshops, hands-on activities, and field trips will be offered to Black male eighth grade students during the academic year. We will organize in-person field visits both within and outside of the state.The majority of the workshops and events will be on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Field trips that take place in person will leave later.
