The New Canaan Athletic Foundation is one of New Canaan’s most successful Public Private Partnerships.
The NCAF was founded on May 12, 2016 to create a platform for like-minded community members to enhance and support the Town’s approach to youth and high school athletics. The NCAF has partnered with the New Canaan Community Foundation, The Chamber of New Canaan and joined the New Canaan High School club initiative to provide an environment where high school students can further pursue their interests and express their creativity by establishing the New Canaan Athletic Foundation Club.
Governed by its Board of Directors - consisting of members who are involved in all sports - boys and girls, youth and high school, past and present. The NCAF’s mission is to support the experience of all youth and New Canaan High School student-athletes with a broad-based community commitment towards facilities, enhancements and equipment.

Recent accomplishments are the new turf at Dunning Stadium, the two new turfs at the Water Tower Fields, a new track complex with bleachers as well as the introduction of the annual end of summer Field Fest family event.
We take great pride in supporting the continued development of one of the premier athletic venues in Connecticut, through our Public Private partnership with the Town of New Canaan. All the while recognizing that maintenance and upkeep for the newly expanded facilities must remain a priority. As such, in conjunction with the Town of New Canaan, we have created revenue opportunities through the development of an enterprise zone by hosting college events, high school showcase tournaments and club program events in their respective seasons beyond the traditional New Canaan-based sports programs.
Given all the challenges of the past eight months, the NCAF netted $60,000 in fees from outside sports organizations who utilized our fields in the summer of 2020.
