Town of Harvard MBTA 3A site designation

MBTA-3A site designation

In 2022, Massachusetts enacted MBTA Section 3A of the Zoning Act to promote more multi-family zoning near transit stations.  Because Harvard is adjacent to Ayer and Littleton, we must zone for at least 113 units of multi-family housing.  This will be by-right and without age restrictions.

The Planning Board is seeking your input for suitable locations for this zone.   Because an area is zoned for multi-family housing, it does not mean the development will be built.   A landowner may or may not choose to develop the site even if it were to be selected for multi-family housing.

There are three potential sites in Harvard the Planning Board has identified as meeting the area requirement to facilitate 113 units of multi-family housing.   Please rank all three sites below in your order of preference to be designated for multi-family housing.  Your first choice (#1) would be the one you would most like to see designated for development and your third choice (3#) would be the site you would lease like to see designated for development.

Thank you for participating.
