We are delighted to invite you to participate in our second Airtel Africa materiality assessment survey, focusing on sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) issues for our internal stakeholders.
As we stand three years from our last materiality assessment, which played a pivotal role in identifying the most pressing sustainability issues for our strategy, we have decided to reconvene the process this year and conduct double materiality assessment. It is crucial that we revisit and reaffirm our focus areas to ensure they are aligned with the best international practices, evolving business landscape and societal needs.
The purpose of the double materiality assessment is to ensure that the disclosed information resonates with our stakeholders, addresses concerns that are both crucial to the business and meaningful to those engaged with it. It also builds credibility and trust by demonstrating a clear understanding of what matters most to both Airtel Africa and our stakeholders.
Your input as representatives of Airtel Arfica’s governance structure, involved in strategic planning and decision-making, is invaluable in evaluating how sustainability issues affect our business development. Your responses will inform the development of an updated materiality matrix, guiding our reporting efforts and helping us prioritise key sustainability issues for the future.
