Gina Schoenling MSN, RN, CPN
- Gina has over 25 years of nursing experience at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC). Her diverse bedside experience spans the Emergency Department, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Hematology/Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplant, and various medical-surgical floors. She has also served as an ECMO Specialist on the Trauma Team.
Currently, Gina is the Clinical Director of the Heart Institute Outpatient Care (HIOC) at CCHMC in Greater Cincinnati and Greater Louisville/Western Kentucky. Over the past 17 years, she has held several leadership roles, including Education Specialist, Clinical Manager, and Patient Safety Consultant.
Gina is passionate about Patient and Family Experience, Patient Safety, Employee Satisfaction and Wellness, Shared Governance, Quality Improvement, and professional development. She has led numerous initiatives and quality improvement projects, such as Cardiac Arrest Prevention, Employee Experience and Retention, and Nursing Safe Handoff. Gina is a member of AAACN, AONL, and an active board member of the Ohio chapter of the Society of Pediatric Nurses.
