This survey was formulated by a coalition of theatre-makers of color over the past few months as the pandemic shut down our theatres and canceled theatre-maker jobs. We paused to join the ongoing movement to end racist police brutality, as many of you did as well.
The eruptions naming racism, anti-blackness, and other discriminations against BIPOCs are reflected in what we understand as the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on TOCs/Theatre practitioners of color.
It is in that spirit that we distribute this survey.
The purpose of this survey is to understand and widely report the immediate and projected long-term impact of the pandemic on theaters of color. This survey also asks what theaters of color have done in response to the pandemic. This survey should take approximately 20 minutes to fill out.
