About the Biostatistics Educational Excellence in Public Health (BEEPH) Network
As suggested by the name, the BEEPH network provides an opportunity for members to share ideas and innovations to achieve excellence in biostatistics teaching specifically within public health, with the goal of understanding and adequately equipping the current and future public health workforce with contemporary quantitative literacy and skills.
The inaugural co-chairs for the BEEPH network are Dr. Erin Cvejic (University of Sydney School of Public Health) and Katrina Blazek (School of Population Health, UNSW), both of whom have considerable subject-matter expertise. We invite academics involved in delivering biostatistics units of study into public health programs from CAPHIA member institutions to join the network.
Network meetings will spotlight the latest pedagogical research, provide members an opportunity to share successes of innovation in delivery and assessment, and foster collaboration through collectively solving teaching-based challenges of relevance to these subject areas. It will also allow for domain-expert informed recommendations to enhance biostatistics curriculum within the delivery of public health education.
