The Building Bridges Leadership Academy (BBLA) is designed for young adult and adult allies who are interested in volunteering for CCEJ's youth programs and who would like to build foundational skills for social justice facilitation rooted in restorative values.

**PLEASE NOTE: This training is only for adults over 18 and out of high school. High school students interested in becoming Youth Leaders for Building Bridges Camps must attend the Summer Youth Leadership Institute, a separate program.**

Young adults interested in becoming Youth Mentors must attend this program to be eligible to return to camp.

The training provides participants with the necessary knowledge and skills that are needed when working with any of CCEJ's youth programs.

This 3-session program is also particularly suited for volunteers who will be attending the Building Bridges Camp and other CCEJ programs.

This is a dynamic program packed with helpful strategies, techniques, tools and insights. Here is what a participant can expect:


• Exploration of oppression and social justice, including topics specific to racial justice and gender justice
• Community building & Interactive learning
• Dialogue and facilitation practice
• Resources and reference materials
• Overview of CCEJ's Building Bridges for Youth Programs and volunteer opportunities.

The training will consist of the following dates:

Session 1 - Saturday, January 18, 2025 10:00am-4:00pm
Session 2 - Saturday, January 25, 2025 10:00am-4:00pm
Session 3 - Saturday, February 1, 2025 10:00am-4:00pm
Timeframe includes breaks and lunch.
Training will be in Long Beach, CA. Location will be sent in confirmation email.

Application Deadline: Friday, January 10, 2025!

A light breakfast and lunch will be provided each day.

Requirements include attendance at all three program sessions for the entire scheduled time.

*The total cost of the training is $75. There is a sliding scale "pay what you can option" that ranges from $5-$75 to make this training accessible. We encourage you to be reflective and honest with your access to resources when considering what to pay.
