One-Act play submissions and applications are open for the 35th New Voices for the Theater playwriting competition. Applicants in 8-12th grade are eligible for the competition. Submissions will be open from November 1, 2024 to February 1, 2025.

Six winners will be selected and offered to participate in a one-week online intensive playwriting workshop and a one-week in-person rehearsal process to prepare for the 35th Festival of New Works on July 26, 2025.

New Voices 2025 will take place from July 14 to 26, 2025. The first week (July 14 to 18) will take place via virtual workshops. The second week (July 20 to 26) will take place as an in-person residency at VCU, facilitated by SPARC in Richmond, VA. More information can be found at SPARC NEW VOICES
