Young professionals selected for the VYP board will serve an initial two-year term with the option to renew for an additional two years thereafter, if the member still meets the age requirements.

Requirements
  • Applicant must be age 40 or under on June 30th of the concluding year of the term for which they are applying
  • Applicant should have a minimum of two years of professional work experience at the time of application
  • Applicant must be an active member of the Greater Phoenix Chamber and/or the Valley Young Professionals
  • Applicant must be available for an in-person interview Wednesday, May 14, 2025

Board Expectations

  • Passionate about creating and fostering a vibrant community where young professionals can live, work and play
  • Attend 5/6 of bi-monthly board meetings and 8/12 of monthly VYP events
  • Actively advocates for VYP’s mission and initiatives within personal network
  • Develop programming concepts that meet the goals/mission of the VYP program
  • Invites a minimum of one (1) guest to each event VYP event
  • Either assumes an elected role (after one year on the board) or participates in a committee annually

The Process

The Greater Phoenix Chamber Valley Young Professionals Board of Directors will review all applications and select the finalists based on the submitted application packet. You will be notified by a Greater Phoenix Chamber staff member if selected for an interview. Panel interviews will be conducted for the finalists on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.
