The Impact of Rising NICs, NLW and Business Rates on the Theatre Industry
The Autumn Budget announced rises to employer National Insurance Contributions, business rates and the National Living Wage. Please help us to understand the implications of these increases on theatre by filling in a short survey. . We will use your data, completely confidentially, to demonstrate the impact of the rises to Government and to help prepare for upcoming union negotiations and advocate on your behalf.
We understand that these changes are more likely to affect venues than producers, but producers should still complete the survey to the best of your ability to help us to understand the effects on the whole industry.
NPOs may recognise some of these questions as aligned with the questions recently asked by ACE. may recognise some of the questions from a survey you have already completed for Arts Council England. This is purposeful to save duplication of work, but we need you to provide the information to us directly as they cannot share individual organisations’ responses with us. We also ask in more detail about your plans to cover these increased costs.
