At China’s 20th Communist Party Congress in October 2022, Xi Jinping cemented a historic third five-year term and displayed a level of control over the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) not seen for decades. Richard McGregor, Senior Fellow for East Asia at the Lowy Institute, will explain how Xi controls the party and what it means for China’s economic and foreign policy.

Guests are required to present ID upon arrival at the Embassy.
