The Athena Bikeways project will plan, design, and construct multimodal safety and mobility improvements, including high quality, low stress bikeways, on several streets in Midtown connecting to Centennial Park. The project includes the following streets:
· 25th Ave N from Elliston Pl to Charlotte Ave
· Patterson St from 25th Ave N to Bar-B-Que Alley
· 29th Ave N from West End Ave to 31st Ave N
· Acklen Park Dr from Murphy Rd to Long Blvd
· Long Blvd from Acklen Park Dr to 31st Ave N
· Burch Ave from 31st Ave N to 29th Ave N

As one of the second steps in the project, NDOT wants to know what the community and users think of the proposed design concepts based on the input that was provided in the previous survey inquiring how the streets are currently working for people.

Question Title

The image shows two design concepts, referred to as Alternative 1 and Alternative 2, at the intersection of Acklen Park Drive and Wrenwood Drive. Alternative 1 includes crosswalk striping and curb bulb-outs on the west side of Wrenwood Avenue. Alternative 2 has crosswalk striping and curb bulb-outs on the west side and a median lane divider on the east side of Wrenwood Avenue. Both alternatives show speed cushions and sharrows along Acklen Park Dr leading up to the intersection on both approaches.

Alternative 2 shows stop lines at all 4-sides of the intersection with the existing crosswalk striping and a median divider on the west side of Acklen Park Drive. Both alternatives show speed cushions and sharrows on Acklen Park Dr leading up to the intersection on both approaches.

Both alternatives include landscaping bulb-outs and rubber curb and flex post protected bike lanes on both sides of the street. A parking lane runs along the south side of Long Boulevard and there are sharrows leading up to the intersection on both approaches.

The bike lane is between the sidewalk and green areas or parking lanes on both sides of Long Boulevard. Green areas will include various options of landscaping.
