Public Arts Collections Manager Associate (Arts and Culture Intern)
The Arts and Culture Department (Arts and Culture) is the designated local arts agency for the City of Phoenix that supports, champions, and promotes the City's arts and culture community, making Phoenix a great place to live, work, and visit. The agency and its citizen advisory Arts and Culture Commission are critical in promoting the importance and value of arts and culture experiences for all Phoenix residents.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Audit the public art electronic database for accuracy and completeness.
- Demonstrate superior, seamless customer service, integrity, and commitment to innovation, efficiency, and fiscally responsible activity.
- Maintains regularly and reliable attendance.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Knowledge of:
Knowledge of:
- Arts and culture, including public art, arts education, arts database management.
- Principles of electronic file organization.
- Principles of evaluation and assessment.
- Common art materials and terms.
- Principles of customer service and public relations.
Ability to:
- Accurately input data into cloud-based collections management database.
- Produce written documents in English with clearly organized thoughts, using proper sentence construction, punctuation, and grammar.
- Use solid planning and organization skills with close attention to detail, accuracy, procedure, and deadlines.
- Use Microsoft Office to produce documents, specifically Excel, and Word.
- Work cooperatively with City employees, outside agencies, contractors, and content management systems.
- Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- Be a current or recently graduated undergraduate student (within two years of graduation) attending an institution of higher education.
- Be at least 18 years old.
