AfIDA 2023: State of African Infrastructure

Based on the discussion and feedback of our work in 2020-22, we have launched the Catapult Accelerator for first-time energy and infra developers active across Africa. The aim is support interested developers in their efforts achieve better outcomes in terms of speed and certainty of success.  The Catapult is designed to deliver regular access to capital, address learning and training gaps through the AfIDA Academy, and provide advocacy support with the public sector.  

We are planning minimum three Catapult and project development and finance training session for 2023.  This is to be complemented by public sector advocacy in selected countries.

The three Catapult Pitch Session are due be held as follows:

15-May - Online
22-Jun - Nairobi (as part of Africa Energy Forum)
11-Oct - Cape Town (as part of GEAS Africa Oil Week)

training courses are planned to be held in Cairo, Nairobi and Cape Town around these dates.

This survey is intended to achieve two objectives:

a) source interest for interested first time developers to participate in the AfIDA Catapult Accelerator.

b) fine tune our priorities for 2023-24 with input from key private and public sector stakeholders.
