AfIDA 2025: State of African Infrastructure & Catapult Call

Welcome to our 2025 African Infrastructure Survey and Expressions of Interest for the Catapult Accelerator.

(This survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete)

The AfIDA Catapult Accelerator has had a great 2024 – with three events held in Amsterdam, Cape Town and Addis, covering projects ranging from energy, water, irrigation, transport, Digital-ICT, and SEZs. The AfIDA project development & finance training has also been held three times this year. These initiatives have been informed in large part by your responses to this annual survey, and we are most grateful for your participation.

Looking forward to 2025, we have at least three Catapult pitch sessions planned this year – all with strong partners. These include;
- Feb 05, Cape Town: Mining Related infrastructure (energy, water, rail) together with Minerals Council South Africa
- Mar 05, Cape Town: Energy (as part of Energy Indaba)
- Jun 11, Nairobi: Cities projects as part of New Cities Summit together with Charter Cities Institute.

- July 17, Johannesburg: SEZs/IDZs (as part of Manufacturing Indaba)

We are also in discussions with partners to see if we may host sessions on mini-grids, digital infrastructure and airports.

This year, we are honoured to assist OECD Dev in collating views from stakeholders in identifying the skills gap across the infrastructure lifecycle, and across the African infrastructure ecosystem for their 2025 Africa’s Development Dynamic report, which will focus on Productive Infrastructure. Your response to this survey will inform this annual flagship report of the Africa Union and OECD Dev, and will be a resource for high level policy makers across the African Continent.

Respondents who indicate an interest in joining this, will be invited to join a virtual workshop on the topic on Friday January 17 at 14.00 UCT. Details for the registration will be shared.

Responses may share contact details voluntarily if wish to engage further with Catapult or in our skills workshop with OECD Dev. No contact information provided will be share with third parties.
