Accessing public data from Australia |
Welcome to the Nectar Survey on access to public data from Australia
This survey aims to gather the opinions of the Australian bioscience research community on which life science public data resources would better support research in Australia if made readily accessible.
This survey is asking you to think about public datasets, databases or repositories you use in your research. These data resources could include the outputs of Australian flagship data projects (such as those funded by Bioplatform Australia) or international datasets (such as data from the 1000 Genomes project or the Sequence Read Archive).
The outcomes of this survey will be used to help identify the data resources of highest value to Australia and the benefits of hosting them within Australia. Identified data resources could then be hosted and made accessible through the National research infrastructure.
Structure of the Survey
This survey has 26 questions. The questions are designed to capture information about you and your research as well as your current and future activity using public data resources and benefits derived from this access.

Structure of the Survey
This survey has 26 questions. The questions are designed to capture information about you and your research as well as your current and future activity using public data resources and benefits derived from this access.
The survey should take no more than 10 to 20 minutes to answer and is completely anonymous. IP addresses are not captured. Your participation will help shape the ongoing decision-making and planning process in making those public data resources identified by you more usable and more accessible. This may include faster, more efficient, or more stable access which could allow the use of those resources to be more routine and reliable in your research, leading to improvements in your use of public data to reach your research goals sooner.
