Alcova Heights Park Renovations |
Help us update Alcova Heights Park! As you know, this 13-acre park has a playground with combined equipment designed for 2-5 and 5-12 year-old children, a diamond field, a basketball court, a sand volleyball court, public restrooms, a picnic shelter, grills and lots of open space with lots of trees. But did you know that about 90% of the park is in a Resource Protection Area, which means its stormwater feeds into the Chesapeake Bay? These areas require special considerations to be sure the stormwater is filtered to keep the Bay clean.
During the months of August and September Arlington County will be reaching out to park users and neighbors for input on what you think about the park, how you use it, and how it can be improved. Please share your ideas with us.
The Alcova Heights Park renovation will update the current park amenities and ensure the park meets environmental and ADA regulations that have come into place since the park was last updated.
