Abstracts should describe innovations in the continuum of education, i.e., from undergraduate medical education (UME) to graduate medical education (GME), or educational leadership and faculty/career development in an academic environment. Abstracts must clearly state the objective of the study, program, or intervention, describe the methods and resources utilized, and critically analyze relevant data. Metrics for “effectiveness,” “success,” and “impact” must be explained to help serve as a model for other institutions to adopt and implement. Examples of appropriate topics include, but are not limited to:
  • analyzing and adapting to USMLE Step 1 using pass/fail scoring
  • amplifying medical student engagement with the curriculum
  • incorporating or integrating technology in teaching and learning
  • utilizing innovative pedagogies and teaching modalities
  • integrating pathology into the medical school curriculum, with particular emphasis on histology, gross anatomy, and neuroscience/neuroanatomy integration
  • optimizing competency-based education and assessment
  • determining progressive responsibility with trainees
  • implementing faculty/career development as a pathology educator
Demonstrate educational leadership to the academic pathology community by sharing your innovative and impactful work at the AAPath 2025 Annual Meeting!
