Spring Garden Pop-Up Bike Lanes |
From Tate Street to Fulton Street
Pop-up projects use temporary design materials and mobile traffic-control equipment to allow design concepts to be tested on a short-term basis. The Spring Garden pop-up project from Tate Street to Fulton Street replaces the existing sharrows (shared-use lane markings) with designated bike lanes on both sides of the street. The project removes 25 parallel parking spaces from the south side of the street and removes the left turn lane at Spring Garden and Mendenhall. If it is successful, it will become a permanent design when the road is resurfaced.
