Your Voice in Outdoor Arts: A National Survey |
Introduction
This survey aims to gather insights into the current state and future direction of the Outdoor Arts sector in England. It seeks input from all parts of the sector, including artists, producers, venues, local authorities, and funding bodies.
The findings from the survey will contribute to broader conversations about the future of Outdoor Arts and a summary will be shared with sector colleagues, funders as well as Local and National Government.
The survey will be followed by a series of 1-2-1 and group conversations, which will shape resources that will benefit the Outdoor Arts sector as a whole such as a new strategy document and an advocacy toolkit.
OutdoorArtsUK (OAUK), Without Walls and 101 Outdoor Arts have commissioned this work with additional funding from Arts Council England. OAUK has been designated as the Project Manager. These commissioning organisations have engaged an external consultant to advise and support the process, collate and interrogate information and draft the final documents to ensure impartiality.
How to approach this survey
We recognise that the survey is substantial, and it is purposefully so in order to gather as much depth and width of your views as possible.
The survey comprises of multiple choice questions and open ended questions where you are free to respond using your own terms. It is not mandatory that you answer all the questions, and you may choose to answer the majority of the questions very quickly.
Your answers do save automatically once you have completed a section, so we recommend you complete the survey in more than one sitting in short bursts. The survey has five sections in total.
Some tips on answering the questions:
- Be honest and specific in your responses.
- Feel free to share examples from your own experience to illustrate your points.
- Consider both the positive aspects and the challenges facing the sector - being open to both.
- Think creatively about the future possibilities and potential of Outdoor Arts - your direction and that of others too.
- If you are unsure about a particular question, feel free to leave it blank.
- Use the free text to say more about each of the specific sections if you wish.
- There are no right or wrong answers!
The responses will not be individually shared, distributed or made public. Any individual comments that are deemed useful to be shared within discussion groups will be made anonymous, or where context is necessary, used with permission from the responder.
If filling in a form is inaccessible to you, please contact OutdoorArtsUK. A member of staff can then collect your survey responses over the phone or online meeting. Please email: info@outdoorartsuk.org, or phone 07366 146389.
