Sand Creek Schools Facility Need Survey - March 2024

The Sand Creek Schools Board of Education and administration are continuing discussions regarding the district facilities. We received some great feedback at the numerous Bond Informational Meetings last fall and from my recent "Meet with the Superintendent" event. We have adjusted our planning and discussions based on this feedback. However, we need to hear from more of our residents and parents.

* 3. Following the election last fall, we heard from you that the main concern was the cost of the proposed Multi-Purpose Building part of the project. Focusing on safety and efficiencies only, would you support a bond issue to fund the following facility needs? Please check all that apply.

Redesign and upgrade the Ruth McGregor Elementary Drop-Off and Pick-Up traffic flow.

Additional parking at the elementary building.

Replacing the aging septic system at Ruth McGregor Elementary.

Extend elementary gym/cafeteria to add storage, indoor walk-in cooler and freezer and PE office.

* 4. We also heard feedback that the community would support some of these expenditures if they saw grant and/or fundraising efforts. Along those lines, would you support a bond issue to help fund the following needs? Please check all that apply.

The Wrestling Club has a substantial amount of funds raised to go towards building a dedicated wrestling practice building. This would be located on the north side of Gorman Road, next to the football field. Would you support a bond issue to assist with this project.

The district was able to get approval to use grant money and some sinking fund money to add air conditioning to the 2nd and 3rd Floor classrooms and a few select other classrooms, in the Jr/Sr High School building. This improves the learning environment and air flow. Would you support a bond issue that would provide funding completing this project in all classrooms of the district?

The district was able to use grant money to upgrade some of the restrooms in the Jr/Sr High School building with new doors and/or full-height, full privacy stalls, which adds to the safety of all students. Would you support a bond issue that would fund the upgrade all restrooms in the district.
