Building Resilient Communities: Climate & Infrastructure

The 2025 Annual Conference will be held at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre from May 27 to 29, 2025. This conference will highlight the role of local government finance professionals in examining, developing, and applying strategies to address the risks of a changing climate and the impacts on infrastructure at a community level. The conference program will include a breadth of topics focusing on creating sustainable and resilient communities.

The themes of "Climate & Infrastructure" will seek to increase local government's capacity for building resilient communities by:
  • Fostering collaborative conversations about the impacts of climate on overall community sustainability.
  • Building from the collaborative nature of local government finance to share how climate is impacting community infrastructure.
  • Sourcing opportunities on measures to adapt to an increasingly unstable climate with increasing budgetary pressures.
  • Demonstrating the ability of local government finance professionals to deliver strategic value and impact.
