Thank you for following the link to our survey! The Comox Valley Child Development Association is preparing to schedule upcoming Sibshops groups and would like to learn more about what would work for families. Please read the information below about Sibshops and if you are interested, please complete the survey by February 29, 2020.
Sibshops
Sibshops are groups for siblings of children with diverse abilities to meet each other in a relaxed recreational setting. We provide a fun and safe space for kids to share ideas with other siblings.
The group is designed to be fun! We play lots of games, do art and movement activities, and eat yummy snacks. Along the way, we provide opportunities for kids to share joys and concerns related to life with a sibling with diverse abilities. There is never any obligation for kids to share and we trust that children that don’t share a lot benefit from listening to the other kids in the group.
In Sibshops, kids have the opportunity to connect with peers, learn how other children handle situations commonly experienced by siblings and discover more about the significance of their siblings’ diverse abilities. We hope your child will join us!
