In June 2020, Washington Concert Opera reaffirmed our commitment to being agents for change in the fight to make opera a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable art form for WCO, the D.C. community, and the operatic industry at large.

Data is essential to understand where our companies stand in relation to their communities and to understand what is needed to advance a more inclusive field that encompasses people of diverse ages, genders, backgrounds, races, and ethnicities. In order to set company goals  – and to measure progress toward them – it is important to understand our or strengths and challenges in creating equitable practices for auditions, hiring, rehearsals, and performances. To that end, WCO has developed a short demographic survey guided by a similar surveying from Opera America.

While the responses collected may be publicized as part of a general aggregate (I.E. the overall demographics of our ensemble, not individual entries), WCO will never release your personal information to a third party of any sort. If you have any questions, please contact us at info@concertopera.org
