Work place dialogue: male-female

Below you will listen to a short reconstructed workplace dialogue between a boss (Robin-male) and his subordinate (Kim-female). Later, in a day or so, you will listen to the same dialogue, but in a manipulated format where we have changed the voice quality of Robin to sound like a woman and Kim to sound like man. We are interested in capturing your impressions of Robin (the boss) in these dialogues and how the gender make-up of the conversation (male-female v.s female-male), may or may not affect these. Your answers will later form the starting point for a discussion seminar on conversational styles that will take place shortly. It is therefore important that you answer all questions carefully. Also make a mental note of your free text response so that you can refer back to your initial responses in the upcoming group discussions.

This exercise is part of a larger research project run by Örebro University in collaboration with Umeå University. Since it is important that we compare your responses to the two texts you have listened to and still guarantee your anonymity in this process, we ask you to create a personal anonymous i.d., which you should remember. We also ask you to provide some basic information about yourself.

At the seminar event, we will tell you more about what this research project is about, but please indicate already whether you want your data to be included in the research database or not.
