Thank you in advance for participating in this study!
The purpose of this study is to understand how interpersonal relationships and community values affect social media use, specifically on Twitter.
You will be asked to complete six surveys which represent an overall time commitment of 5 to 10 minutes. The survey consists of demographic questions (age, sex, race, etc.), your feelings about your interpersonal relationships, and the amount of time you spend using social media. You will not be asked personally identifying questions such as your name or exact location. All responses are de-identified and anonymous.
The risks to participants are no greater than those experiences in daily life or activities.
You will have the opportunity to submit your email for a chance to win a $50 amazon gift card at the end of the survey. To ensure that your responses stay anonymous, email submissions will be hosted on Google Forms and will not be linked to your SurveyMonkey session. A winner will be picked at the conclusion of the study. In addition, it is hoped that findings from this study will help researchers understand more about social media usage, digital communities, and health.
Participation in this study is completely voluntary. There are no negative consequences should you choose not to participate. If you decide to participate, please be aware that you may stop participation at any time.
By completing this survey, you are indicating that you are over the age of 18, have read the description of the study, and agree to the described terms.
