In accordance with our continued mission to inspire and prepare young people for the business of life; we are proud to offer a variety of FREE virtual program options available for teachers and parents built around our three pillars of financial literacy, career readiness, and entrepreneurship.

JA DALLAS VIRTUAL EXPERIENCES & PROGRAMS (ELEMENTARY SCHOOL)

JA Adventures is a culminating experience for students that follows the JA BizTown curriculum. Fourth through sixth grade students gain an understanding of various aspects of running a business as they take on the roles of chief executive officer, chief financial officer, marketing director, sales manager, and consumer via five online, self-guided adventures. Using a branching, story-driven treatment, each adventure provides students an opportunity to practice problem solving, decision making, critical thinking, and analytical thinking, as well as weigh saving and spending choices, consider risk management and insurance strategies, and make personal and business-related financial decisions. The adventures can be used as an alternative simulation experience when or if students are unable to visit an onsite location. Alternatively, the adventures may be explored before or after the on-site simulation, enhancing the overall learning experience.

This program gives entrepreneurs and volunteers from various professions a platform to describe their journey through the business of life. The 20 - 30 minute presentation may be live or pre-recorded and will focus on steps, education, and even mistakes experienced by volunteers on their personal and professional path. Pre and Post student assignments are available.

This is a dynamic program where trained high school students will deliver an abbreviated version of our interactive JA curriculum in a virtual format to elementary students. This program can be pre-recorded or livestreamed. High school students will complete the five JA lessons over 2 scheduled virtual teaching sessions. Participating high school students will receive service learning hours and become eligible for our JA scholarship. Graduating seniors will also receive a JA graduation cord. **This program requires a relationship between an elementary school and a high school.

This is an engaging program where trained volunteers deliver a modified version of our interactive JA curriculum in a one day (or over a duration of time) virtual format to elementary and middle school students. Volunteers complete all lessons at designated times throughout the school day. This program can be pre-recorded or livestreamed. In addition to corporate or community volunteers, this is a great way to increase parent involvement in classrooms.

All profits generated benefit the school or designated community organization. Throughout the startup process, students collaborate, make crucial business decisions, practice communication skills, and develop entrepreneurial knowledge and skills within a streamlined, teacher-led experience.

* 18. JA Finance Park: (Grades 6-8) REDESIGNED*:

This is a capstone program for middle grades students that provides a foundation for making intelligent, lifelong personal financial decisions. Prior to the simulation, students participate in a series of teacher-driven lessons on earnings, credit, debt, banking, savings, investments, taxes, and other core financial topics. Students then have the opportunity to apply these learnings to each aspect of their financial life when they enter JA Finance Park Virtual. During the online simulation—and within the parameters of their unique career and life situation—they will use bank services, contribute to charities, purchase housing, transportation, furnishings, food, and health care, and budget for education expenses. They will also make investment decisions and work to create and balance their personal budgets

Students may complete the virtual experience with a live Q&A session, resume-writing, mock interviews, etc as determined by the company.

JA Learn and Earn is a brand-new app, created by the founders and engineers that helped to build and launch Acorns, the fastest growing micro-investing app in the country. This app allows middle and high school students to learn financial literacy skills anytime, anywhere, in a fun and engaging gaming experience. As students learn through small knowledge bites, they can earn real money to save in an investment account. They can select individual stocks and manage their own portfolio. The JA Learn and Earn App is available for free in the App Store and Google Play Store.

* 25. JA BOLD Girls Summit: (Female High School Seniors) NEW*:

Targeted toward female graduating high school seniors, the primary focus of this virtual event is to broaden the imagination and expand the dreams of our participants. The JA BOLD (Business Oriented Leadership Development) Summit topics will include: creating a personal brand, graduating from college debt-free, finding meaningful internships/volunteer opportunities, learning from the mistakes of others--and much more! After spending the day connecting with professional women, our BOLD Girls will log off this event feeling empowered, confident, and limitless! The event is set for November 7, 2020.

After completing at least 8 teacher-led instructions, students may visit JA Finance Park in a realistic on-site community at JA World, or online in a virtual community while remaining in their classroom. During their visit students design their own life scenario, including a job, salary, and family situation, to use as the basis for their simulation experience. With their real-life personas, students experience first-hand what it is like to pay bills and manage their money from their teenage years through retirement. JA Finance Park provides an eye-opening experience that gives students a solid foundation on which to build effective personal financial habits for life.

JA now offers full semester virtual courses to be taught by teachers with volunteer subject matter experts as guest speakers. The courses are 16-18 lessons and are complete with student assignments and assessments. This JA Program introduces high school students to the stock market. Students discover the benefits and challenges of investing in the stock market as part of a broader, long-term investment strategy and the risks and rewards of trading. Five lessons required (plus optional extension activities); JA Take Stock in Your Future is primarily educator led content with multiple options for virtual volunteer engagement.
