Keeping rents fair and affordable is a priority for South Lakes Housing. Our rents are significantly below market rates, with social rents at 60–70% and affordable rents at 80% of local market rents.

We propose a 2.7% rent increase for 2025, in line with Government rules. This will be reviewed by our Board in January and is the minimum needed to maintain services, improve homes, and build new affordable housing.
From April 2025, benefits, the National Minimum Wage, and pensions will increase, helping offset this change for many customers.

We remain committed to investing in safe, quality homes for our communities.
