Survey Purpose: The Yukon River Drainage Fisheries Association (YRDFA) has organized weekly in-season salmon management summer teleconferences since 2001. Our goal with these calls is simple; provide weekly communications during the run between Yukon River fishers and the fishery management team for supporting escapement goals, sharing of run timing, river conditions, subsistence and commercial harvest, and clarifying complex fisheries issues during the fishing season. During the 2023 season with no fishing opportunity we utilized the platform to share important information that affects the Yukon River, including inviting guest speakers in areas of research, other management areas, and bycatch.

We want to hear from you on what works well with these teleconferences and what you think could be improved to better support communication and coordination across our Yukon River communities and stakeholders. If you have not participated in a teleconference before but have a potential interest in joining, you are still welcome to take this survey and share your perspective.

Results from this survey will be compiled by a third-party consulting firm, Information Insights, and will be made available by YRDFA for anyone interested. Responses are anonymous, although we do ask for your general affiliation (ie, community member, agency, nonprofit, etc) so we can understand different perspectives. We will use this information to improve future teleconferences and report out on a grant that supports our work.

This survey contains eight questions, and will take 10 minutes or less to complete. Please complete the survey by Wednesday, March 20th.
