Artist Survey
An ‘artist’, by definition, is: “a person skilled at a particular task or occupation/profession or hobby.” These are people who create art (such as, but not limited to: painting, sculpting, sewing, pottery, woodworking, writing or music) using conscious skill and imagination.
While artists can successfully meld their skills and creativity into beauty, this work can take up a lot of time and space. Itasca Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) acknowledges and appreciates those skilled people in our community. We believe that nurturing that skill and creativity can help us all become more committed to the arts culture. We understand that there is a strong need for additional space.
The Forge, “Where ideas take shape,” is a renovated industrial building scheduled to open in Fall 2023. It will incorporate training and education for students and workforce and include innovative spaces for entrepreneurs and artists to develop their creative ideas. It is geared towards working with wood and metal, CNC machines, and other related items. We’re happy to say that there will be space at The Forge available for artists to utilize at an affordable cost. This is where we need your help!
We want to hear from artists and community members to assist us in making this space affordable and efficient. The goal is to help even more artists make a living with their individual skill and imagination. Please complete our short survey and lend us your thoughts on how we can make the most of the space we have available.
