Censorship of Sikhs on Social Media |
Have you ever faced online censorship or discrimination related to your Sikh identity?
Your voice matters. By taking a few minutes to report the incident of censorship, you can help SALDEF document these experiences and fight for our right to be heard.
Censorship is dynamic and evolving. It is experienced across content platforms, including Twitter (X), Meta, YouTube, and TikTok. Accounts found to violate guidelines have to choose between accepting that their pages will be shadow-banned and harder to find via search or risk the outright deletion of their content.
Since the 2021 Farmer Protests in India, SALDEF has been working to combat Anti-Sikh censorship efforts. To learn more about censorship as it affects Sikh Americans, please visit www.saldef.org/sikhcensorship.
