ACLS Reviewer Volunteer Form |
Peer review is a vital part of the work of the American Council of Learned Societies. Each year, we recruit over 600 reviewers with expertise in disciplines from across humanistic studies to evaluate fellowship and grant applications and select new cohorts of awardees. Our reviewers include scholars, librarians, curators, public humanities leaders, and others whose perspectives and expertise allow them to identify promising research by scholars at all career stages.
Now more than ever, we depend upon our community of peer reviewers to help us respond nimbly to scholars' needs, and to advance ACLS's mission to shape a more just future for the humanities. We're especially interested in reviewers who are open to the challenge of identifying innovative methods, cultivating greater openness to new sources of knowledge, and advancing research that is informed by the interests of people of color and historically marginalized communities. We are also committed to increasing institutional diversity among our reviewers.
If you would like to be considered as a peer reviewer for our fellowship and grant programs, please fill out the form below and you will be added to our database. Depending on the evolving needs of our programs, we may use the information you provide to contact you about serving as a peer reviewer.
