Good practices on Responsible data use and governance in Africa |
A responsible data project
Hello there!
Thank you for honouring the call to participate in the responsible data project.
The Center for Learning on Evaluation and Results, Anglophone Africa (CLEAR-AA) is one of six regional centers housed in academic institutions across the globe and supported by the CLEAR global Initiative in Washington, DC. As part of a global network, our work is informed by international best practice but we draw extensively on local expertise. We have a thoughtful and deliberative research and learning agenda, which enables us to constantly reflect on how to successfully strengthen monitoring and evaluation systems.
During the glocal evaluation week, we hosted a series of events under the theme “How to conduct Digital MERL during COVID-19”, these events included responsible use of data, remote monitoring and data administration. Director Prof. Dugan Fraser closed out the last session by acknowledging the importance of the discussions, how incredibly helpful and useful they were and that we should carry the knowledge-sharing forward and collaboratively create a tangible guide for best data practices that all African M&E practitioners can benefit from.

We recognise that there will be a process involved in putting together this project, one that we will collaboratively strategise on with you.
