Survey for the Fusion Community

Estimated time: 7 minutes
This quantitative survey is part of a Master's thesis research in an effort to get empirical data on the use and views of Soft Power for the development of the Fusion industry from the Fusion Community.

Soft Power: a term coined by academic Joseph Nye, is used often in politics and international relations for its ability to enact change or impact behavior based on appeal and attraction; in contrast to hard power, which uses coercion and inducements (eg military attack, economic sanctions).
A selection of Soft Power instruments are divided into the following four categories:

· Political: scientific diplomacy, policy-making;

· Economic: private investment, tax incentives;

· Cultural: Education and the Arts;

· Communications: social media, events;

These sources can either attract or repel different parts of society in favor of the agenda set by nations, industries, companies and individuals.
All your answers will remain confidential unless you specifically give permission to be acknowledged within the research findings.

Thank you for taking the time to reply to this survey.
