Well-Being Pledge Commitment Form 2022 Recognizing that self-care prioritization, mental health and substance use represent significant challenges for the legal profession, and acknowledging that more can and should be done to improve the health and well-being of lawyers, your firm/organization hereby commits its support for the CBA Well-Being Pledge and will work to adopt and prioritize its ten-point frame-work for building a better future. Question Title * Firm/Organization Question Title * In the coming year, my firm/organization will make every effort to: Provide enhanced and robust educational opportunities to our attorneys and staff on topics related to well-being, substance abuse disorders, and mental distress and illness. Actively and consistently promote and encourage help-seeking and self-care as core values of our organization. Implement flexible work-schedule policies, including remote-work options. Ensure access to addiction and mental health treatment by providing quality mental health insurance coverage and/or EAP resources. Foster and role model healthy workplace interactions among colleagues. Provide free, in-house resources, such as (but not limited to) a weekly 30-minute yoga class, a meditation room, or a lactation room. Implement workplace electronic communication policies, limiting the need to respond to electronic communications and phone calls to certain hours of the day, with few exceptions. Strongly encourage vacation time off (i.e., through role-modeling by firm leaders, vacation/paid time off requirements, or a holiday shutdown). Invite and encourage attorneys and staff to make suggestions for initiatives and organizational policies which promote well-being and a healthy work environment. Remind all attorneys that a well-being CLE credit goes toward their ethics CLE requirements. Next
