When considering a change in amenities or adding amenities within a community park, the park district always reaches out to nearby residents for input. We understand that neighbors are the most frequent users of Woodscreek Park, so your opinion counts!

Please take a few minutes to answer this short survey. As always, updates to park projects can be found at crystallakeparks.org and on the Crystal Lake Park District Facebook page.

With the overwhelming success of incorporating pickleball lines within the two tennis courts at Veteran Acres Park, the Crystal Lake Park District is considering a similar conversion at Woodscreek Park in 2025/2026. Pickleball is a racquet sport that has been popular for decades in other areas of the U.S. and is rapidly gaining players in the Midwest. Played on a smaller court than tennis, it is accessible for all abilities and fun for all ages.

Also, community interest is growing for adding a skate park/wheeled track at Woodscreek Park.

A skatepark is a safe place for individuals and groups to challenge themselves, to encourage and be encouraged, to set and achieve their own goals while learning to manage risk along the way. It’s a place where people build healthy habits like self-directed exercise and creative expression. It’s a place where people learn how to persevere and the value of persistence. A place to experience accomplishment and build confidence. A skatepark is an attractive, accessible and safe recreational facility for all. A safe and welcoming gathering space for skaters, families and the entire community. (www.skatepark.org)

A pump track is a specially designed & purpose-built circular track designated for wheeled “action sports” such as BMX and dirt jump biking. It as a circuit of rollers, backed turns and features designed to be ridden completely by riders “pumping” – generating momentum by up and down body movements, instead of pedaling or pushing.

Thanks in advance for your participation!
