The Australian Government is currently consulting on Foundational Supports.
This survey is for young people with disability and parents/caregivers of children and young people with disability.
We would like to know your thoughts about foundational supports and how you think they may impact on you.
This survey should take 10 to 15 minutes to complete.
First, we want to provide you with some information about Foundational Supports:
- Foundational Supports are disability specific supports that are additional to mainstream services and supports accessed through the NDIS.
- There will be 2 types of Foundational Supports. General Foundational Supports and Targeted Foundational Supports.
- The government is currently consulting on General Foundational Supports. These are additional to mainstream supports and will be available to all people with disability, their families and caregivers.
- The government describes General Foundational Supports as supports that will provide information, advice, individual and family capacity building and community capacity building.
- The Government will also be consulting on Targeted Supports. Consultation on targeted supports for specific groups will start in October and continue over for several months. These supports will focus on assisting people with special needs (i.e. children with developmental difference).
- Foundational Supports will be funded by federal and state governments. They will not be delivered by the NDIS.
