SED 2015 Business Retention and Expansion Program Survey |
BUSINESS RETENTION AND EXPANSION PROGRAM
Shuswap Economic Development (SED) is an organization within the Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) that supports business and community and activities and development for the District of Sicamous and CSRD Area's C, D, E, and F. Its focus is both on supporting existing businesses as well as attracting new opportunities. SED along with Shuswap Tourism and the Shuswap Film Commission are managed by Economic Development Officer Robyn Cyr
Throughout 2014 SED worked to update its information databases as well as engage in various forms of business and community outreach in order to learn about current challenges and opportunities as well as overall trends businesses are encountering throughout the Shuswap. Much of the information this information was then used to create a new SED website as well as community profile documents for the different areas within the SED region. We invite you to view these items at www.shuswapecdev.ca.
One of the key aspects of SED is our Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) program - focusing on existing businesses, supporting their abilities to achieve success and growth, and learning about challenges and opportunities faced by individuals, sectors, communities, and the region as a whole. As part of this program, our goal is to visit at least 100 this year. You can learn more about our BRE program here: www.shuswapecdev.ca/BRE
We will be asking each business we visit as part of our BRE program to answer a short survey we have developed. This will allow us to learn about your business and the community you are located in, and to see if there areas where we can help better support your success. Obtaining a set of standardized survey data will also allow us to examine specific industries or sectors within the Shuswap, as well as specific communities or areas in order to identify challenges and opportunities that SED can better support.
Please contact us with any questions, comments using the information provided below. We also welcome suggestions for businesses to visit.
