The Montreal Round Table on the Transition of Religious Heritage |
Welcome to the Table Survey (5 mins estimated completion time)
Background:
- In 2019, the National Trust of Canada released a report revealing that one-third of the country's religious buildings were at risk of closing.
- These findings add to an earlier study conducted by Quebec’s Religious Heritage Council (CPRQ) demonstrating that between 2003 and 2014, of the 2,751 places of worship that were identified, 400 had closed.
- In 2022 and through the support of one of Montreal’s leading foundations, the Trinity Centres Foundation (TCF - a national leader in the adaptive re-use of places of worship) began the Montreal Round Table with a purpose of gathering charitable, non-profit, faith-based, municipal, provincial, arts, culture, civic and impact investing-related actors, to come up with new solutions.
About this survey:
- As a land-owning faith congregation or related organization you can help us develop a general portrait of the situation in Montreal, as it relates to the status and usage of your property, by completing this short survey.
- The survey is not intended to be either academically or statistically exhaustive, but is designed to give us a "temperature check" view.
- Survey results will be shared with other members of the Round Table but individual contact details will be kept confidential.
- You have the right to withdraw submitted information at any time.
Note: All questions marked with an *asterisk require a response. All other questions are optional.
